For SKROSS®, social and ecological responsibility has been a key topic for many years. For this reason, the company is a member of the social business compliance initiative “Amfori” since 2015.

Over the last years, SKROSS® has implemented several initiatives to reduce its ecological footprint. The plastic components used in our packaging have been reduced to the strict minimum and replaced by recyclable carton or paper boxes. We have relocated our main warehouse from Austria to Hamburg in 2019 which resulted in a substantial reduction of deliveries moved across Europe by truck. In 2022, the company moved into a new and modern but also more ecological office in Widnau, in the Swiss Rhine Valley.

To further push our sustainability agenda, SKROSS® has partnered up with the renown Swiss climate foundation “myclimate”. The basis for this co-operation is the measurement of the ecological footprint of all our professional activities and our employees at the headquarters in Switzerland, including our foreign offices. The elements measured are not only the flights taken and kilometers driven by car by the employees but also the energy used to heat the building, among other things.

SKROSS® takes responsibility for its CO2 footprint by contributing to climate protection projects managed by “myclimate”

By a cast of votes, the SKROSS employees decided to support 2 climate projects in Nicaragua and Uganda. From a total of over 100 projects, the members of the SKROSS ESG team, Meinrad Berchtel (Head of Product Management) and Christian Ernst (Managing Partner), have presented a shortlist of 6 projects to our staff. The 2 projects selected were: a community reforestation project in Nicaragua and a project ensuring clean drinking water for schools and households in Uganda (see also: www.myclimate.org/01-23-871828).
